I read this because I have recently developed an interest in Richard lll's life. This book is Volume one of two books written by this author, and focuses on his life until around the age of 30. I enjoyed reading about the man he was before he becomes the monster history tends to make him.Although not "just" a man living during this time period due to becoming a prince when his brother ascends the throne of England, he led a life of a rather typical nobleman. We learn of the trials and tribulations of life: health, marriage, family and dealing with others in the community.I enjoyed this book and am ready for the second half of his life in Volume ll.
